
What’s better than a poached pear for the New Years’s Eve!! Wish you all a very happy New Year …
Poached Pear
2 Firm Pear
500 ml Merlot (Get a fruity one)
2 inch Piece Cinnamon
2 cloves
1/2 pod of vanilla scraped
5 tablespoon of sugar
1/2 teaspoon lemon zest
For the complementing cream
100 ml thick cream
1 tablespoon of cream cheese
Pomegranate glaze
In a deep pan boil Merlot to lemon zest for 10 mins. Peel the pear and remove the core and ten boil it for another 15 mins . Leave the pear in the wine sauce for anther 10 mins and let it cool. Take one cup of the wine sauce and reduce it to 1/4th and keep it aside to cool.
For the cream, whip the thick cream and then add cream cheese and whip for 30 secs.
Place the pear carefully in a serving plate and drizzle the reduced wine and then serve it with cream with a few drops of pomegranate glaze on it.
